More than 9,000 educational institutions, businesses and government departments around the world accept C1 Advanced as proof of high-level achievement in learning English! It is accepted by UK universities, and helps learners develop the skills to make the most of studying, working and living in English-speaking countries.
The Cambridge Advanced exam is the logical step in your English journey between the First /B2 level and the Proficiency/C2 level. This course is intended for learners with an upper intermediate / lower advanced level of English. It aims to prepare you for the Cambridge English: Advanced examination, concentrating on the five skills: reading, writing, grammar, listening and speaking at C1 level. If, however, you do not wish to write the exam, you can just concentrate on enjoying the course and improving your skills. Either way, you will also need to set aside time each week for homework, in order to gain the full benefit from the course.
Entry fee to the exam and booking are not included in the course fee. You will do this yourself, guided by your tutor, when you feel confident you have achieved the required level. How long it takes you to achieve this depends, of course, on your starting level and the amount of time you can dedicate to your studies. You will probably find, like most learners, that you need more than one term’s tuition to be prepared for the exam (if you choose to enter for it). If this is the case, you will be offered the opportunity to re-enrol and pay for another term. The course is priced per term.
To access information on exam centres offering booking deadlines and dates for the exam please go onto the website: www.cambridgeenglish.org. You will also be able to access exam practice papers.
