Brief Description:
How about cooking some South-East Asian Street food such as Chicken Rendang (Malaysian), Rice, Vegetable fritters (Indonesian), best melt in the mouth peanut cookies (sold in shops and market for festivals in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand).
You will be provided with recipes and all the ingredients for the day.
Previous Experience and Knowledge Needed?
No previous experience required.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of the course you will have the opportunity to:
• To learn and improve practical skills
• Develop an understanding of using spices and South East Asian herbs
• To help confidence and enjoyment in cooking and tasting South East Asian food
• Develop a better understanding of street food of South East Asia
Extra costs on the course for example text book, materials or equipment:
All ingredients will be provided.
For the session you will need to bring:
An apron, tea towel, dishcloth, pancake pan if you have one, 1 simple cookie cutter, sharp knife, a food processor IF you have one you prefer to use (the college will have knives and food processors available), containers to take cooked food away.
A light lunch.
