Course details

Brief Description

During this workshop you will create a unique and beautiful mosaic Glass panel based upon a nature theme. Experiment with cutting glass, shaping it using a grinding machine, and finally gluing and grouting the fragments together to create a fantastic piece.

Learning outcome:

You will learn through demonstrations and discussion. Opportunities will be given to create your own design so that you will understand how to design your own piece if desired. By the end of the day, you will have made a fun decorative piece using glass and glass nuggets if desired.

Extra costs on the course:

Specific mosaic materials for the day will cost approximately £12 which will be paid to the tutor at the beginning of the workshop. All equipment will be provided except the ones listed below which you will need to bring with you on the day.

What you need to bring for the day:

A permanent pen, images for inspiration, A4 paper and an apron, (fabric or plastic coated) a pair of scissors, a piece of glass or a tile up to A4 size and a pair of pliers if you have them.

Optional: sequins, beads, buttons.

On completion of this course, what might your next steps be?

A follow on course in more craft techniques.
