By the end of the course, you will have the opportunity to:

- Complete small scale thumbnail and value studies
- Select a colour scheme to achieve the effect you want
- Complete a painting in either monochrome or more than two colours
Extra costs on the course for example textbook, materials or equipment
No extra costs are involved as the necessary basic materials and equipment are provided.
For the first session you will need to bring:
If you have your own pencils, brushes, paints and paper please bring these. You should also bring any small scale objects you would like to paint; this can include photographs, books, fruit, flowers- anything you are interested in. A still life will be set up which will be optional.
A note on photographs- if you choose to photograph your own still life to work from, please ensure it has good directional light which shows good light on one side and shadows on the opposite. This makes the painting much more impactful.
On completion of this course, what might your next steps be?
The aim of the course is to increase confidence so that you will feel able to explore either still life or painting in more depth, either on your own or an another course.
