Flash fiction is a short, short story. It requires the elements of a longer piece of fiction, but everything is pared down to a minimum. Can you learn to write fiction in a flash? This two-hour workshop will get you started.
We will explore the key components of fiction (plot, character, theme, and narrative voice) and work together to blend them into a structure that has a defined beginning, middle & end. Using the short, short stories that have been told for generations such as fairytales & fables, we will examine what lies at the core of flash fiction’s popularity.
Once you have developed an appreciation of the skills and craft that go into dynamic storytelling, you can begin to write coffee-time tales that take little time to read but are perfectly formed – short, but not necessarily sweet!
