The course is run on an informal basis to help you feel at ease. Each week you will be provided with a recipe for which you will need to obtain the ingredients. You will learn to make your own bread including sour dough along with techniques such as kneeding, proving and shaping. Expect to see some of the following recipes covered in the course: scones, pizza, easy bread bloomer, baked doughnuts, baguette, ciabatta.
Previous Experience and Knowledge Needed?
By the end of the 5 week course participants will have the opportunity to:
• Explore and make a range of breads
• Gain confidence to experiment further on your own using skills learnt in the lesson
• Improve your basic methods of preparation of food and cooking
• Develop a better understanding of food hygiene in the kitchen.
Extra costs on the course for example text book, materials or equipment:
You will be given an ingredients list weekly and will be asked to bring the ingredients for the following week’s recipe at a cost of between £5 to £10 (max) weekly.
For the first session you will need to bring:
£3.00 for ingredients. Apron, Tea Towel, Dish Cloth.
