Brief Description:

The course is intended for learners with an advanced to proficient level of English. It aims to prepare learners for the Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English examination concentrating on the five skills: reading, writing, use of English, listening and speaking.
To access information on exam centres offering this qualification/ booking deadlines and dates for the exam please go onto the website: www.cambridgeenglish.org You will also be able to access exam practice papers.
The course is priced per 9 weeks (one term); most learners will find they need more than one term’s tuition to be prepared for the exam (if they choose to enter for it). If this is the case you will be offered the opportunity to re-enrol and pay for another term.

Previous Experience and Knowledge Needed?

Learners should have completed Cambridge Advanced Certificate before joining this class. If you have not recently passed CAE an assessment test is needed for placement purposes. A £5 charge is payable at the time of assessment. This cost is redeemable against your course fee. To book an appointment call the office on 01223 712340.

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of the 9 week course you will
• enjoy a higher level of communication and greater confidence in speaking English
• have a wider and more varied vocabulary
• have explored and practised different papers from the CPE exam
• have an extended knowledge of grammar

Examination Fees:

Your tutor will advise you on venues, dates and prices of exams. This course only covers tuition in preparation for exam – no certification fee is included in the cost of the course.
