A course centered on understanding wood, and tips on how to look after it. You will be learning and practicing the following techniques: Why does wood crack? Why does wood corrode? Maintenance. Finishing types. If time allows we will look at some fixes. You will be shown how to use the different techniques and use tools correctly.
Once you have mastered these skills you can go on to make individual projects.
Previous Experience and Knowledge Needed?
This is a beginner’s course. No previous experience necessary.
By the end of the course you will have the opportunity to experience:
• How to recognise different type of wood
• How to treat different type of wood
• How to look after it
• Produce your own project using wood pieces pre-pared by the course tutor.
For the first session you will need to bring:
A pencil and notepad.
