On this fun course you will use flower arranging and floristry techniques to create beautiful floral designs for a number of occasions for the autumn and winter festive season. Some prior flower arranging experience is of benefit but come along and be amazed at what you can create using readily available flowers, fruits and berries.
We will work with a variety of medium including wet floral foam and vases to create floral designs including table centre pieces, themed work e.g. for bonfire, Christmas pieces, and floristry. Week 1 design is included in the course fee.
Previous Experience and Knowledge Needed?
A love of flowers. Some knowledge of flower arranging or floristry will be an advantage i.e. prior course or workshop or have made flowers for friends
By the end of this course the participants will be able to:
• Create stylish, seasonal and festive floral arrangements in traditional, rustic and modern style
• Understand how to buy and prepare seasonal flowers to maximise their cut flower life
• Gain confidence and experience handling a variety of flower and foliage
• Cost a design
Extra costs on the course for example text book, materials or equipment:
You will provide your own flowers and foliage each week although the tutor can provide some flowers and foliage for a reasonable price.
Expect to pay around £10 a week for flowers although actual price will depend upon the design and where you shop. It will be much less if you have your own foliage or flower and berry source.
A starter pack containing containers used on the course, basic floristry equipment, foam, dish, tape, wires etc. may be purchased at the start of the course for your convenience at approx. £15. Floristry scissors are available to order for £8.50 if desired.
