Do you plonk your flowers in a vase or wish they looked better? This session will show you how to arrange flowers in a vase to best effect. With tips on choice of materials plus a few practical tricks and interesting touches for that designer feel! All materials are included in the course fee to create a beautiful vase to take home and admire.
This session combines well with the bouquets and gift-wrapping day.
Previous Experience and Knowledge Needed?
None required. Just a love of flowers
By the end of the course, you will have the opportunity to:
• Arrange a secure vase of flowers and foliage
• Learn tips to prepare and choose your flowers and prolong their cut flower life
• Investigate alternative ways of arranging flowers and foliage to best effect
Extra costs on the course for example text book, materials or equipment
All materials required are included in the course fee.
For the first session, you will need to bring:
Strong scissors (and secateurs if you have them). Bin bag. Something to wrap your design to take it home eg bubble wrap and a crate or supermarket bag. Apron.
Please notify the college of any plant allergies before the course. A light lunch. Drinks are available.

Helen AllenI have many years’ experience in floral design with my creations appearing in international magazines. I won ‘student of the year’ for my ANC floristry exam. Being freelance as ‘Verdila flowers’ I teach many different groups including sheltered schemes, and I am busy with wedding and event work especially in the summer months.
