This is a one day glass fusing course.
Glass fusing is a process where pieces of glass are cut into shapes and melted together in a kiln to form a new piece.
In the morning we will look at and make glass pieces which include using other materials you can fuse with glass, known as inclusions. We will also look at ways of attaching fixings to our glass pieces for display.
In the afternoon, we will look at ways of working with coloured glass including this and the previous elements in our designs.
You could make your designs into jewellery, Christmas decorations or tiles.
You will make pieces of a maximum size of 10 cm sq approximately.
Please note: You will need to pick your finished work up at a later date during the week.
Previous Experience and Knowledge Needed?
No knowledge required.
Extra costs on the course for example text book, materials or equipment:
£12 payable to the tutor on the day.
You will need to bring:
A packed lunch. Please wear suitable clothing and shoes (no open toe shoes)
