This is a course for beginners where you will learn how to write and read in Arabic Language. You will also develop your listening and speaking skills. Arabic is the fourth most spoken language in the world. About 315 million people in 58 countries speak Arabic as their first language. Learners’ needs will be put first and met in order to achieve learning outcomes.
Previous Experience and Knowledge Needed?
This course is in its third term; you will need to have covered the outcomes listed below for term 1 and 2. If you are unsure, please contact the office and they will put you in contact with the tutor.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of the one year course you will have the opportunity to learn how to :
Term 1
Recognise, write and pronounce Arabic Alphabet ( phonology)
Identify part of words, words order , How sentences are made ( Morphology/ Syntax)
Acquire Vocabularies ( Semantics)
Greet people. Ask and give basic information
Term 2
Introduce yourself and your family
Explain your daily routine
Express likes and dislikes
Go shopping, give and ask for directions
Term 3
Order Food and drinks in a restaurant or bar
Read a short story
Write a paragraph
Explain past, present and future events
For your sessions you will need to bring:
Notebook and Pen
On completion of this course, what might your next steps be ?
Learners will be able to proceed to the Arabic Improvers in September
