May 2023 Newsletter

Hello.

What a wet May so far!
Adult Learn and Train have been busy programme planning for 2023/24. Expect to see some old favourites as well as some new courses. We will update you in the next newsletter.

English and Maths:

Did you know, according to Learning and Work Institute an estimated 9 million working aged adults in England have low basic skills in literacy and maths and almost one in 10 young people have not achieved a level 2 qualification in these subjects by the age of 19. That’s where we come in! Adult Learn and Train run Functional Skills and GCSE courses for these learners.

You’re never too old and as long as you fulfil the funding criteria these courses are accessible to you for no cost, other than your time and effort!

To get learners ready for full year long accredited courses, Adult Learn and Train will be running their 3-week English and 5-week Maths Confidence courses. These courses are designed to build learner’s confidence in the chosen subject and give them a taste of what to expect on a full Functional Skills or GCSE course.
These courses start in June. If you or anyone you know would benefit from these funded courses, please see/share the information below:
Maths for Confidence (Monday evenings at Parkside Community College): Maths: Confidence with Maths – Evening – Adult Learn and Train – Cambridge (adultlearning.education)

English for Confidence (Wednesday evenings at Coleridge Community College): English: Confidence with English – evening – Adult Learn and Train – Cambridge (adultlearning.education)

These courses are suitable for learners wishing to progress in that subject up to GCSE (Level 1 and Level 2 learners).

You can enquire and book onto the funded courses through email: office@adultlearning.education
