OCT Sewing: Slow stitch Bee & Flower Tote Bag

17/10/2026

Duration : 1 Day

| Arts & Craft

Do you enjoy sewing, or have you never tried? Would you like to learn to use simple stitches to embellish a bag to take home?

Brief Descriptions:

You will use simple shapes along with traditional stitches to create an image, to enjoy the process rather than worry about the product. By exploring texture, stitches, and colours, you'll learn how sewing can be about more than simply making something.

This workshop is a great place to meet up with like-minded folk, get inspired, and show off your project. Slow stitching workshops will introduce you to the meditation of stitchwork and the importance of relaxing into it.

Slow stitching is about taking a step back from the busy, chaotic world we live in. It's about appreciating the moment. In other words, it's about mindfulness. Slow stitching isn't about being perfect. Neither does it matter if your stitching isn't the best.

During the first part of the workshop, you will draw out your design onto fabric using cookie cutters, or just your imagination! Then you will place the section of the bag into an embroidery hoop and choose the colour threads that you want to use. I will show you some simple stitches, and away you go!

It can be as simple or as complicated as you like. Come along and try it.

All the tools and equipment will be provided.
