Brief Description
This course is aimed at anyone who would like to know more about European painting between 1715–1886. I will introduce the main art movements during this period including the Romantics, the Pre-Raphaelites and Impressionism. Selected artists including – Monet, Millet, Turner and Frederick will be studied each week so that students can gain an insight into how the periods linked together, and why these particular artists and their works were so important during this era.

You will learn through a series of power point presentations, worksheets, video clips and great discussions!

You will need a notepad and pen.
There will be a class trip to the National Gallery in London to see the Renoir in Love exhibition, at the National Gallery on Wednesday 25th November 2026. Price: approximately £21.00. (at time of printing, prices not yet released 15/6/26)
