Brief description
Have you ever wondered how glass is made and put together? Here is your chance to try a unique glass technique called ‘copperfoil,’ invented by Louis Comfort Tiffany which revolutionised the way that glass was made and put together. Small scale, delicate pieces can be made using this method. You will need a steady hand and lots of patience to learn this technique, but the results will be well worth the effort! You will create a unique and beautiful copperfoil glass decoration using a combination of coloured glass and glass globs if desired. You can choose from making a plant design or a sun catcher
During the first part of the course we will concentrate upon working from a design/photograph and learning to cut and copperfoil glass. From then on we will be using glass fragments to make a small scale design or your choice (with the help of the tutor). If you choose to create a plant design, pots and soil will be given to you in the course – there will be a charge of £5 extra for this.
